Getting around
Walking
The University of Liverpool campus is within easy walking distance of the city centre, Lime Street Station, and many nearby hotels. A walk from the conference venue to the ferry terminal for the dinner on Thursday will take around 30 minutes.
Buses
Local buses connect the city and campus. All buses accept contactless payment when boarding.
Bike & e-scooter
Bolt bikes and e-scooters are available across the city and provide a quick way to travel short distances between the centre and campus.

Venues
The main venue and registration desk is the Central Teaching Hub. For full information on finding the right buildings, please see venues.
Visa & ETA
You may need a visa (check on the UK Government website).
An Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is now required by the UK for visitors previously exempt from visa requirements. Additional information can be found at https://www.gov.uk/eta/apply.
At the Venues
Luggage Storage
The main venue (Central Teaching Hub) has free lockers which can be used to store luggage if travelling directly to/from the venue up to cabin size trolley bags. Larger items left at owners' risk.
WiFi
Eduroam is available in all campus venues. Guest wifi logins will also be available at the registration desk in case you do not have Eduroam.
Slides
If you're speaking at CONFEST we'll collect slides in advance. Please check your email for instructions.
Screens are 16:9. PDF Preferred. PPTX, URLs also acceptable.

Crown Place Accommodation Information
If you have booked on-campus accommodation please note:
- Your bedroom is a single en-suite bedroom. Bed linen and towels are provided in bedrooms. Tea/coffee facilities, iron and ironing boards will be located in communal lounge areas located on each corridor. Hairdryers can be requested at reception.
- The full address is: Crown Place Residences, 200 Brownlow Hill, Liverpool, L3 5UE
- Check in time from 4.00pm, collect your keys from the Reception at the accommodation. A luggage room will be available for early arrivals
- Check out time is 9.30am. A Luggage room will be available.
Food
At the conference
Breakfast is included for those staying in Crown Place accommodation 7.30am - 9am (Waterhouse Café in the Victoria Gallery and Museum).
Light refreshments are also available for all at the venue from 8:30am each day.
Lunch The conference includes lunch every day.
Dinner A light dinner is included at the reception (Tuesday) and a full dinner is included at the social dinner cruise (Thursday).
Off campus
Restaurants are spread across the city centre, but a few streets have particular concentrations:
- Hope Street — adjacent to campus, between the two cathedrals
- Bold Street — independent cafés and restaurants, roughly ten minutes' walk from the venue
- Royal Albert Dock — on the waterfront, about 25-30 minutes' walk
- London Road — closer to campus, with a number of good value Middle Eastern and Asian restaurants
- Chinatown — Berry Street/Nelson Street, just past Bold Street
Code of Conduct
Participants are reminded that they must conform to the CONFEST code of conduct thoughout the event.

Childcare
We have a wonderful nursery on campus, only 300m from the main venue!
Kids in Bloom is located at the University of Liverpool and offers short-term childcare upon request and subject to availability.
